After the massively popular series “Business Proposal”, both Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Se Jeong are heading on to newer projects
Debuted as an idol under the project girl group I.O.I and later the disbanded group gugudan, Kim Se Jeong is now recognized as a talented actress via works like “School 2017”, “The Uncanny Counter”, and most recently, “Business Proposal”, where she starred alongside Ahn Hyo Seop. After two continuous successful works, Kim Se Jeong became a highly-anticipated face in her upcoming K-drama project “Today’s Webtoon”.
This approaching series has since released first teaser images, where Kim Se Jeong boasts intense energy, positivity, and liveliness. In fact, the actress looks so in character, netizens praise her as “having walked out” from the original Japanese comic, “Sleepeeer Hit!”. Her office attire also complemented Se Jeong’s visuals perfectly.
Regarding their casting choice of Kim Se Jeong, the producer of “Today’s Webtoon” couldn’t hold back praise, saying: “Kim Sejeong has proven herself to be the perfect choice for the female lead. Thanks to her, the filming set is always filled with happy energy. As webtoons have become a crucial part of our current life, it’s necessary for us to show the lives and difficulties of webtoon artists, as well as their editors, who are “shadow artists” that adds to the charms of webtoons. In our perspective, Kim Se Jeong has delivered a spectacular performance while playing one of such ‘shadow artists’.”
In “Today’s Webtoon”, Kim Se Jeong will assume the role of female lead On Ma Eum, who gave up on her dream of becoming a judo athlete after facing a career-ending injury. She then becomes a rookie webtoon editor at Neon Webtoon – where she face various adversities, but still maintains her positive demeanor – all while growing to become a formidable name in the Korean webtoon world.
“Today’s Webtoon” will air every Friday and Saturday at 22:00 (KST), starting from July 29th.
