Uhm Jung-hwa reveals body management secrets “On a diet for years + abdominal exercises for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”

Actress-singer Uhm Jung-hwa revealed her body management secrets

On October 11th, Uhm Jung-hwa appeared as a guest on SBS PowerFM’s “Choi Hwa-jung’s Power Time” to discuss her new movie “Miss Fortune” (directed by Lee Seung-jun).

During the show, when high-heel action was mentioned, Uhm Jung-hwa said, “I did action for a few months while filming ‘Okay! Madam’. It seems to have helped me. Running in high heels is comfortable for me because I’ve run a lot on stage. I also regularly exercise when I have free time. I haven’t been able to do yoga regularly, but I’ve recently started Pilates, and I find it very enjoyable. I used to do weight training, but nowadays, I mainly focus on Pilates.”

She also mentioned EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation), “Many people call it fake exercise, but it’s genuinely good for waking up your muscles. It’s certainly effective for hip-up.”

Uhm Jung-hwa, who also did kickboxing in the past, received praise for her muscular and toned physique. She explained, “I paid a lot of attention to muscle training during my time with ‘Dancing Queens on the Road’ and followed a specific diet. When I followed the diet, my muscles became more visible. Normally, they are hidden. If you don’t follow the diet, they stay covered, but when you do, they pop out.”

She then revealed that she focused on abdominal exercises due to Lee Hyori’s song “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” in the past.

Uhm Jung-hwa added, “Exercising makes life comfortable, gives confidence, and I have no problems getting up and sitting down. When I had an injury and lost muscle mass (in the past), it was hard. It seems like I can’t live without muscles.”

One listener asked, “You once said you had never eaten ramen at night. Are you still like that until now?” Uhm Jung-hwa affirmed, “I’ve been regulating my diet for a few years now. (I’m controlling) carbohydrates and sugar. These days, I can’t do keto. I try to avoid carbohydrates and sugar as much as possible, and it helps a lot.”
