Top 5 most streamed songs in early 2022 on Spotify: only one female idol appeared in the list next to BTS

BTS has once again proven their global popularity on the Spotify chart in early 2022.

Spotify, the internet music portal, published the top 5 most streamed Kpop songs in early 2022 on March 2. This is a rundown of the first two months of Kpop, although only two well-known stars, BLACKPINK and BTS, can enter the list. In general, the explosion and tremendous comeback of Gen 4 groups such as aespa, ITZY, IVE, ENHYPEN, and others have been unable to rival or halt their seniors’ successes.

5. Christmas Tree (V)

Christmas Tree was released on December 24, 2021, as the OST for the series “Our Beloved Summer“. The song is a combination of a melodious, gentle melody with V‘s warm, sweet voice that makes countless audience’s hearts flutter. Thanks to the popularity of the movie and the BTS member, this OST not only became the highest-streamed Korean soundtrack song when it was first released, but also successfully “debuted” at the Billboard Hot 100.

In just over the first 2 months of the year, V‘s Christmas Tree has reached the top 5 most streamed Kpop songs on Spotify in 2022 with more than 53.8 million streams.

4. Dynamite (BTS)

It’s been nearly 2 years since Dynamite‘s release (August 21, 2020), the song has not only never cooled down but also maintained its charm and continued to enter the Kpop ranking categories. This is the first English single of the “global group” that has helped the group “win” countless awards and great achievements such as the fastest MV to reach 1 billion views on YouTube, the Kpop song that dominates Spotify

From the beginning of 2022 to March 2, BTS‘ hit song achieved more than 68.8 million streams on Spotify, ranking 4th in the top five most-streamed Kpop songs.

3. Butter (BTS)

In 3rd place is an English recorded song that created BTS‘ global craze: Butter. In 2021, this super hit was also recorded as the most streamed K-pop song on Spotify, dominating the domestic charts as well as staying on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for many weeks in a row.

Released on May 21, 2021, but in the first 2 months of this year, Butter has gained more than 70.6 million streams on this platform.

2. Money (Lisa)

As the most anticipated solo debut in 2021, Lisa quickly created a craze in the online community and achieved many great achievements. Compared to the title song “LALISA“, “Money” is more successful thanks to the viral melody and partly thanks to the impact of the blockbuster Squid Game.

Released on November 9, 2021, but only in the first 2 months of 2022, MONEY has more than 83.3 million streams on Spotify. This is the only non-BTS song in the top 5.

1. My Universe (Coldplay ft. BTS)

My Universe by BTS and Coldplay released on September 24, 2021 is the song that dominated Spotify in the first 2 months of this year with more than 134.4 million streams.

The combination of two world-class groups has created explosive effects on all charts, from iTunes, MelOn… to the charts of the UK Official Charts system or no.1 Billboard Hot 100. Every message in this light-hearted dance pop is delivered in both Korean and English, affirming that language is never a barrier to love.
