The unexpected ranking of K-dramas that the Japanese want to remake

“Top 10 K-dramas that Japanese people want to remake” is a hot topic among Korean netizens.

On Oct 26th, the result of a survey conducted in Japan was posted on an online community. It was the ranking of Korean dramas that Japanese people want to remake. This survey was conducted in August by a Japanese video service called “1Screen”. Which dramas made it to the ranking?

The first place belonged to “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?”. Starring Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young, this work is a romantic comedy about a narcissist vice president and his secretary. Japanese netizens left a review that it reminded them of the hot drama “Boys Over Flowers”.

Following this, “Itaewon Class”, “Goblin”, “Crash Landing on You” and “My Love From The Stars” were ranked. All of them are Hallyu dramas that were popular in Japan. Meanwhile, two unexpected dramas caught everyone’s attention.

“The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince” (2007) and “My Lovely Sam Soon” (2005) were listed in 5th and 10th place, respectively. It was amazing that they got high rankings despite airing such a long time ago.

Netizens showed reactions such as “I was surprised to see that there were some old dramas”, “How do they know ‘Sam Soon’ and ‘Coffee Prince’?”, “It would be fun to remake ‘Sam Soon'”… On the other hand, a netizen made everyone burst into laughter with their realistic criticism, “Where did ‘Crash Landing on You’ land?”
