The 2023 AAA (Asia Artist Awards) 1st lineup has been announced.
Groups NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM, BOYNEXTDOOR, NMIXX, and ZEROBASEONE (in alphabetical order) have confirmed their attendance at the ‘2023 Asia Artist Awards IN PHILIPPINES,’ which will be held on December 14th at the ‘Philippine Arena’ in the Philippines.
NewJeans established themselves as a leading global girl group with hits like ‘Attention,’ ‘Hype Boy,’ and ‘Cookie’ upon their debut in 2022. They recently achieved the milestone of having three songs simultaneously enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart with ‘ETA,’ ‘Super Shy,’ and ‘Cool With You,’ showcasing their exceptional performance in the K-pop scene. After winning awards for ‘Daesang – Performance of the Year’ and ‘Rookie of the Year’ at the 2022 AAA, all eyes are on whether they can achieve another Daesang at the 2023 AAA.
LE SSERAFIM set a record for the longest chart presence among 4th generation girl groups with their first album ‘UNFORGIVEN,’ which continuously appeared on the Billboard 200 chart for eight weeks. As of September 1st, they have maintained their popularity with 17 consecutive weeks on various Billboard charts, including World Albums, Top Current Album Sales, and Top Album Sales. After winning Best Musician and Rookie of the Year at the 2022 AAA, there is great anticipation for what awards LE SSERAFIM will receive this year.
BOYNEXTDOOR, who kicked off the 5th generation of K-pop with their debut single album ‘WHO!’ in May of last year, solidified their position as a group to watch with triple title tracks ‘돌아버리겠다,’ ‘One and Only,’ and ‘Serenade.’ They are gearing up for the release of their mini album ‘WHY…’ on December 4th, signaling the birth of an exceptional boy group.
NMIXX, which emerged last year like a comet, surpassed 100 million views for the music video of their second single’s title track ‘DICE’ after their debut song ‘O.O.’ They have also set a new record for album sales in just one day with their third single ‘A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream,’ proving their limitless concept adaptability. NMIXX has established themselves as one of the most talented 4th generation K-pop girl groups.
ZEROBASEONE achieved a remarkable milestone with their debut album ‘YOUTH IN THE SHADE,’ which sold 1.82 million copies in its initial release, making them the first K-pop group to achieve a million-seller status with a debut album. In August, they made a rapid entrance into Gocheok Dome after just 37 days since their debut, selling out all 18,000 seats and showcasing their potential as a monster rookie group.
