“Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” Faces More Intense Competition With Popular Dramas After Avoiding “I Live Alone”

KBS2’s music talk show “The Seasons – Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” changed its broadcasting time from 11:20 p.m. to 10 p.m. starting from episode 5 to air today (February 2nd) after “Golden Girls” ended.

“The Seasons” is very ambitious with this “Red Carpet” season, from making headlines by recruiting Lee Hyo-ri, a singer with 26 years of experience, as its MC to inviting BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Shin Dong-yeop, Lee Jung-eun, etc. as guests from the first broadcasts. Living up to expectations, episode 1 of “Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” achieved a viewership of 1.9%. This is the highest rating record of “The Seasons”. One day after the first broadcast, the daily viewing time also increased significantly, which was 14 times higher compared to that of the previous season.

I Live Alone

However, the viewer rating dropped to 1.0% in episode 2 and fell to the 0% range after 4 episodes. It’s hard to expect high viewership for a late-night music talk show, and competing with the popular program “I Live Alone” also adds burdensome.

As a result, “Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” decided to move to the broadcasting time slot of “Golden Girls” after the show ended. The production team is also determined to recover the viewer rating by inviting a splendid guest lineup with Park Myung-soo, Lee Jung-ha, MeloMance’s Kim Min-seok and (G)I-DLE.

However, concerns arose as Lee Hyo-ri’s talk show will compete with dramas as popular as “I Live Alone”. Some fans are worried that “Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” will be overshadowed by Honey Lee’s drama “Knight Flower”, which recently soared to 12.5% in viewership, and SBS’s Fri-Sat drama “Flex X Cop”, starring Ahn Bo-hyun, in the new broadcasting time.

Previously, KBS once rescheduled “HongKimDongJeon” but ended up with a lower viewer rating. “Problem Child in House” was also canceled after changing time.

Despite facing bigger barriers after avoiding “I Live Alone”, “Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet” is trying to attract more viewers by taking advantage of the fact that it’s a different program from dramas. Attention is focused on whether the show will succeed after rescheduling.
