‘The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract’ Officially Apologized To Hanbok Company For Copying Their Design

“The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract” apologized to the company that raised suspicions of their hanbok designs being stolen

A staff from MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract” told Herald POP on December 12th, “We expressed our apology to the company and reached an amicable agreement.”

Earlier on the same day, a hanbok company raised suspicions, saying, “Our design was stolen by the popular drama “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract.” It’s our collection that was presented at Milan Fashion Week.”

We would have been happy if they had asked to officially use it, it was even a scene that passed by for only a moment, but we are very disappointed with the poor copyright recognition,” they added. “Should we be happy as our design was used in a popular drama? They didn’t purposely think of using the design without asking, did they? They used it by mistake because it was pretty, right?”

In the sixth episode of “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract,” the design was used without permission when the female lead Park Yeon-woo (Lee Se-young) presented her Hanbok design at a meeting.

As “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract” is receiving great love with rising ratings, it was feared that this might become a crisis, but the drama seems to have stepped up quickly to deal with it.
