“The Glory” Jung Sung Il, “The way people look at me has changed but having celebrity disease is not my style”

Actor Jung Sung Il talked about the attention he received after starring in Netflix’s hit drama “The Glory”.

On March 24th, Jung Sung Il, who plays Ha Do Young in Netflix’s original series “The Glory” (written by Kim Eun Sook/ directed by Ahn Gil Ho), had an interview at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Ha Do Young is the husband of Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon), who bullied Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) in high school. Ha Do Young looks like a cold-hearted man who doesn’t easily get swayed by others, but he is a actually warm man to his wife Park Yeon Jin and their daughter Ha Ye Sol (Oh Ji Yul).

He doesn’t even know what kind of job ‘actor’ is”, adding, “My son asked his mom, ‘Ms. Soo Young at my kindergarten told me to get dad’s autograph’, but he actually didn’t know what an autograph is”, drawing laughter.

On the broadcast, he shared, “I received such an evaluation for the first time through this project. Jung Sung Il revealed that he is trying to keep his composure despite the keen attention he receives. He said, “Although the way people look at me has changed, I’m still living the way I’ve lived. I’m just happy to make my family, who always support my career, feel proud of me”. The actor firmly stated, “I’m not at the age to easily get the celebrity disease, and there’s nothing that can make me become arrogant. Having celebrity disease is not my style.”
