Lee Do Hyun is drawing a lot of attention for his appearance in “The Glory”. However, there are a lot of sides that his character has yet to show.
Recently, Netflix series “The Glory”, which features Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun, has been released. Alongside the intriguing plot and impressive directing, the outstanding acting skills of cast members, including rising actor Lee Do Hyun, have received a lot of attention.
“The Glory” revolves around female lead Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo), who suffered from intense school violence in her past. For the next 18 years, she meticulously plan a revenge to give every person that hurt her in the past a payback.
In this series, Moon Dong Eun happens to meet Joo Yeo Jeong (Lee Do Hyun) in university. He would teach her to play “go” in the park, and later develop feelings for her. Yeo Jeong even confessed his sincere feelings to Dong Eun, offering to become the “executioner” for her revenge plan.
Contrary to the grim atmosphere of “The Glory”, Joo Yeo Jeong brought a positive vibe, to the point of making people laugh with his cuteness and honesty. He also constantly joke around with people and easily mingles, no matter where he is.
However, the true Joo Yeo Jeong is not so bright. Instead, he has a lot of secrets behind his sunshine demeanor.
For starter, Joo Yeo Jeong is the son of a hospital director, who requires mental consultation after his father was killed by a cruel man. The killer also constantly send letter to Yeo Jeong, leaving him unable to recover from trauma.
At the same time, there were a lot of times where Yeo Jeong can be seen mimicking the actions of the aforementioned killer, while making scary expressions as he recalled the past. This raises a lot of questions about this character.
Some people even suspect that Yeo Jeong may have something to do with the past incident, and that the letters sent to him by the killer contain more than apologies. In addition, many believe that by offering to become Dong Eun’s “executioner”, Yeo Jeong is going to follow the steps of his tormentor.
Whatever the cast, we can only wait and see the changes in his character in “The Glory” season 2. Will secrets about this character finally be unveiled?
Not stopping there, Yeo Jeong’s willingness to help Dong Eun take revenge without any hesitation can show that he will be a key to help Dong Eun execute her plan. Even if he has to kill someone, he isn’t afraid at all, even though he is a doctor.
Not to mention, he also asked Dong Eun , “Who should I kill first?“, showing that he is willing to go all out to help her. There is also a theory that this question proves that Yeo Jeong is more dangerous than he seems because he is seemingly familiar with taking someone’s life.
Lee Do Hyun doesn’t have much screen time in Part 1. But it is possible that in part 2, Yeo Jeong will show a more shocking and ruthless side of himself, having a more important role in the story.
Lee Do Hyun is once again praised for his acting in “The Glory”. In the emotionally complicated scenes, he showed a convincing performance through his gaze and expressions.
Before “The Glory”, Lee Do Hyun was best known for his roles in popular dramas such as “Hotel Del Luna”, “18 Again”, “Youth Of May”, “Sweet Home”…
In 2021, Lee Do Hyun created much buzz with the tearful love story in “Youth of May”. Thanks to this work, he won the Best Actor and Best Couple awards with Go Min Si at the 2021 KBS Drama Awards.
Whenever Lee Do Hyun is mentioned, viewers think of not only his handsome looks but also his natural acting and passion for the job he is doing. Expectations are rising for Lee Do Hyun’s performance in Part 2 of “The Glory”, premiered this March.
