The first actress chosen for the female lead role of ‘Now We Are Breaking Up’ was not Song Hye Kyo!

Even though The role in ‘Now, We Are Breaking Up’ was truly Song Hye Kyo’s style, Soo Ae was the first actress assigned for this role.

‘Now, We Are Breaking Up’ was Song Hye Kyo‘s first ever failure after more than 20 years of acting. The script was boring and the role did not have many impressive scenes or moments, these two factors have made Song Hye Kyo’s comeback very disappointing. And perhaps the situation would not be this bad if another actress agreed to accept the role before Song Hye Kyo that day.

Specifically, before Song Hye Kyo took on the role of Ha Young Eun, the filmmaker had sent an invitation to the “queen of crying scenes” Soo Ae.  However, Soo Ae refused this offer because of her busy schedule.

Initially, the audience thought that the role of Ha Young Eun was born for Song Hye Kyo because it was too similar to the actress’ previous Mary Sure role, who was both beautiful and good but unlucky in love.  Who would have thought that Song Hye Kyo was only the second choice and in the end, she could not succeed with this drama.

At the moment, when Now, We Are Breaking Up is causing a lot of controversy, Soo Ae also has an on-air drama titled Artificial City. Although it did not make a big impact, at least Soo Ae’s role was appreciated for having an interesting story, helping the “crying queen” to change her image. In the drama, Soo Ae plays Yoon Jae Hee, an ambitious woman who works at the Space Jin art museum and dreams of reaching the highest position in Korea.  For her, the men who passed through her life were the tools to help her step into a true high-class life.  And also congratulations to Soo Ae for not receiving such a bad drama like Now, We Are Breaking Up.
