Girls’ Generation Soo Young reportedly hosts HYBE’s new girl group survival program “R U Next?”

Girls’ Generation Soo Young has been selected as the MC for HYBE Labels’ new girl group survival program “R U Next?”.

Scheduled to premiere on JTBC on June 30th, “R U Next?” is a program to select members for the new girl group of HYBE & CJ ENM JV’s label BELIFT LAB. Trainees in this program will compete in a total of seven rounds of missions to prove their potential and star quality to become global K-pop stars.

Soo Young is expected to add tension and fun to “R U Next”. Since she has already gained recognition for her hosting skills on various entertainment programs and at year-end award ceremonies, her performance in “R U Next” is highly anticipated.

In particular, Soo Young has built a unique and impressive career after debuting as a member of the girl group Girls’ Generation and expanding her career to acting. Therefore, viewers will be able to see her interactions and chemistry with “R U Next?” trainees, who own endless potential.

Regarding her participation in the program as an MC, Soo Young shared, “Looking at many girl groups, I am more amazed by the new concepts and plans that have recently emerged, and I am even more surprised by their outstanding skills. Although the girl groups currently active are my juniors, I’m also a fan of them and an enthusiastic listener of their music. I am really excited and looking forward to witnessing and getting involved in the process of a new girl group being born”.

The production team stated, “Soo Young is the most suitable MC since she can sympathize with the situations that trainees will go through”, adding “She will play the role of a role model and a reliable mentor for the trainees, who are pursuing their dreams of getting on the global stages.”

Following Suzy’s participation in the theme song “R.U.N”, the joining of Soo Young as an MC has continued to be a hot topic. The show will air every Friday at 8:50 PM on JTBC starting from the 30th of this month. It will also be simultaneously broadcasted live on the Japanese platform Abema TV and globally broadcasted through the official Youtube channel of HYBE Labels. In addition, the show will be available for replay on Netflix Korea.
