Former MOMOLAND member JooE drew attention by revealing her unexpected recent status.
In a pre-release video of Mnet’s “Queendom Puzzle” on June 7th, JooE appeared as a contestant. JooE was introduced with the modifier “the owner of a 600-million-view music video”, surprising many people. Other contestants applauded and shouted MOMOLAND’s hit song “Bboom Bboom”.
In the VCR that appeared along with the introduction, JooE greeted with a bright face, “I’m the owner of a 600-million-view music video.” She added, “During the heyday of ‘Bboom Bboom’, we won 7 No.1 trophies. I was a member of MOMOLAND and I’m currently standing alone. We went our separate ways (as the group was disbanded).“
JooE confessed, “I was worried about everything (after standing alone). First of all, I became my own manager. I drove myself to the filming location alone.” JooE drove an Avante car and appeared at the filming location with stage costume, hair and makeup. She admitted her mistake, “I’m sorry. I was late because I came here from Sangam.”
Girl group MOMOLAND, which JooE belonged to, debuted in the music industry in November 2016. JooE was the main rapper, lead vocalist and lead dancer in the group. In addition, she appeared on various entertainment programs to promote the team and herself. She received love and attention from many people by showing her unusual variety show ability. In particular, after appearing briefly on “Infinite Challenge” and shooting an advertisement for Tropicana Sparkling, JooE greatly raised her recognition level.
However, MOMOLAND was not able to release a visible hit song after “Bboom Bboom”. Last January, the agency MLD Entertainment announced the termination of the exclusive contract with MOMOLAND. At that time, the agency said, “After long discussions with MOMOLAND (Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, Nancy), we respected each other’s opinions and agreed to terminate the exclusive contract upon the expiration of the contract period.”
JooE confessed through her personal Instagram, “After a long and deep discussion, the 6 of us have decided to support each other to have a great new beginning going forward. Even though we have decided to take our own paths towards our dreams, MOMOLAND will always be a team. We sincerely thank our beloved Merries for providing us with precious memories and being by our side for the last 7 years. Our Merries have been everything to us and always will be.”
Meanwhile, “Queendom Puzzle” is an audition program that completes a project girl group by combining active girl group members or female artists.
