Taylor Swift’s Ex-Boyfriend Breaks Silence on Split, Highlights ‘Dedicated’ 6-Year Relationship

Actor Joe Alwyn Breaks Silence on Split with Taylor Swift, Calls Their 6-Year Relationship 'Long, Loving' and 'Fully Committed'

Known for keeping his personal life private, Alwyn recently opened up about his past relationship with Swift in an interview with The Sunday Times Style, describing their time together as “long, loving” and “fully committed.”

When asked if he had listened to Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which has been rumored to be about him, Alwyn responded, “I think anyone can empathize with what I’m going to say,” adding, “I hope anyone can understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, and committed relationship of six and a half years.”

Swift and Alwyn confirmed their breakup in April 2023 after six years of dating. Fans speculated that “The Tortured Poets Department” was inspired by their relationship, as Swift is known for writing songs about her personal life. Some even suspected that the song “You’re Losing Me” was a diss track aimed at Alwyn.

The couple reportedly met at the Met Gala in 2016 and went to great lengths to keep their relationship out of the public eye. While Swift and Alwyn never publicly addressed their breakup, a source reported that they had an amicable split in April 2023. The news came as a shock to fans, as the couple had been rumored to be engaged.

Shortly after her breakup with Alwyn, Swift was linked to British band The 1975’s lead singer, Matty Healy. This sparked rumors of a “rebound relationship,” as Swift reportedly met Healy while working on music during her time with Alwyn. After a brief fling with Healy, Swift moved on to American football player Travis Kelce, with whom she is currently in a public relationship.
