Stars Suffering From Indiscriminate Drug Rumors (ft. BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Lee Sang-bo & Park Sun-joo)

Unconfirmed drug rumors have caused damage to many celebrities 

Singer Park Sun-joo was embroiled in a drug rumor on October 26th. Her agency First One Entertainment told My Daily on the same day, “Rumors related to Park Sun-joo are not true at all”.

In April, BLACKPINK member Rosé also struggled with drug rumors. After seeing a group photo taken with Rosé that a brand’s creative director released, some netizens pointed out the black-and-white ashtray on the table and raised suspicions that the female idol took drugs.

As rumors spread rapidly on social media and in online communities YG Entertainment released a statement, saying “Rumors about BLACKPINK’s Rosé circulating online are clearly false”. They emphasized, “We are taking legal action against malicious acts that infringed the artist’s human rights and damaged the artist’s reputation. We will continue monitoring and respond strongly without mercy”.

In September last year, the police arrested actor Lee Sang-bo after receiving a report that a man was running around the street in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu like a drugger. As a result, the police requested the National Forensic Service to examine Lee Sang-bo’s urine and hair, but no drug ingredients were detected. Therefore, the police announced that Lee Sang-bo was clear of charges.

After that, Lee Sang-bo appeared on various programs and explained the situation at the time he was arrested. He complained of the pain caused by the incident.
