BLACKPINK Achieves Global Record, Joins One Direction in SNEP Chart Success

BLACKPINK has set a new record, putting them alongside the legendary boy band One Direction

On October 26th, Jennie’s solo song ‘You & Me’ entered the French music association SNEP single chart at No.117. With this, BLACKPINK became the second group to have all its members on the SNEP chart following One Direction.

SNEP explained that Jennie’s ‘You & Me’ has been seeing overwhelming local sales and streaming demand. ‘You & Me’ was ranked as the top K-pop solo song of 2023. The highest-ranked K-pop solo song in SNEP chart history is Lisa’s ‘Money’.

Among K-pop soloists who have entered the SNEP single chart, there are only Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo, Jimin, BTS’s Jungkook, and Psy.

BLACKPINK has proven their class by having all their members enter the French SNEP single chart as soloists, similar to the record associated with One Direction, which includes Harry Styles.

Earlier, ‘You & Me’ also reached the top of the Billboard Global (excluding the USA) single chart. As a result, BLACKPINK became the first group in history to have all their members within the top 10 of the Billboard Global (excluding the USA) single chart.

blackpink world tour

From October last year to September this year, BLACKPINK went on their world tour ‘BORN PINK,’ visited 22 countries and 34 cities around the world, holding a total of 66 concerts.

BLACKPINK reached the end of their exclusive contract with YG in August this year. There is no confirmed news yet regarding the contract renewal of BLACKPINK members. YG has only stated, “Nothing is confirmed, and the negotiations are ongoing.”
