On January 27, the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards was held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. At the awards ceremony, Red Velvet took home the Artist of the Year Award of August in the digital music category with “Queendom.”

We miss you. Although we cannot see your faces, we have been promoting happily thanks to your support.”

Seulgi added, “Thank you once again. To the members who have been working hard by my side, let’s work harder in 2022. Let’s run more. You are the queen and king of your own life.” Wendy also expressed Red Velvet’s gratitude to international fans in English.

Irene made a comeback with Red Velvet members in the promotion for “Queendom” in August of last year after the controversy over power abuse that caused her to take a break from activities in the entertainment industry. Recently, Irene made her fans worry by appearing with a noticeably skinny face at the online concert ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @ KWANGYA‘, posted on the YouTube channel ‘SMTOWN‘.

However, Irene dispelled fans’ concerns by showing a bright performance at the awards ceremony yesterday.

Meanwhile, the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards is a popular music awards ceremony that honors songs, artists, and music industry workers with outstanding performances over the past year based on data from the Gaon Chart.
