PSY: “I would like to applaud BTS for making my ‘unfinished dream’ come true”

Singer Psy expressed his thoughts on the Billboard success of his junior BTS.

The press conference of Psy’s 9th full-length album “Psy 9” was held in Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of April 29th.

When the title of “Billboard senior relationship with BTS” was mentioned, Psy said, “In fact, it is embarrassing to say we are Billboard senior and junior. I was there a lot during the period of “Gangnam Style,” but there are two types of being famous: a famous song and a famous person. However, the fame lasts much longer when a person is famous,” he said.

Psy said, “At the time of ‘Gangnam Style’, I thought it was not a healthy hit because only the song was famous, not me. Some people even think my name is ‘Gangnam’ abroad. On the other hand, I think it will be long-lasting now because some idol groups are famous as people in North America, such as BTS and BLACKPINK,” he stressed.

Also, “I would like to applaud BTS for achieving first place, an unfinished dream that I couldn’t achieve at the time. Of course, I’m not doing music to promote national prestige, but I think it will continue to create proud moments for us,” he added.

On the other hand, “Psy 9” is the title of Psy’s 9th album that utilizes Psy’s cheerful emotions. The main title track of his 9th album is “That That (prod. & ft. SUGA of BTS), co-produced, written, composed, and arranged together by Psy and BTS Sugar. Suga also appeared in the music video following his featuring, and worked closely with Psy.
