A former “High School Rapper” participant, who molested a 9-year-old boy, admitted his crime himself

Amid reports that a rapper from Mnet’s “High School Rapper” was prosecuted on charges of sexually harassing a 9-year-old child, Osshun Gum (23, Choi Ha-min) admitted that it was him and apologized.

On April 27th, Osshun Gum admitted that he was A, the rapper from Mnet’s “High School Rapper” who was tried for sexually harassing a 9-year-old boy, in a Kakao Talk group chat room for fans.

Osshun Gum said, “Once again, I sincerely apologize for hurting the victim and the victim’s family with ridiculous things because I’m sick. I’ll receive treatment and make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.”

Earlier, a number of media outlets reported that former “High School Rapper” participant A was on trial for touching the body of a 9-year-old boy in Haeundae-gu, Busan last year.

According to reports, there were clues to infer Osshun Gum, such as appearing on “High School Rapper”, coming from Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do and having a history of mental illness. Netizens visited Osshun Gum‘s SNS to ask for an explanation, and he closed his account.

Osshun Gum is now claiming to be mentally and physically weak. Osshun Gum‘s legal representative explained, “The defendant was diagnosed with a severe mental disorder in June last year and was hospitalized for 70 days in a psychiatric hospital. Even after returning to his hometown, he committed strange behaviors including taking off his clothes and lying on the street.”

Osshun Gum‘s legal representative continued, “The defendant made an incomprehensible statement about the reason for his crime at the time. Judging from these circumstances, it can be seen that the crime in this case also reached a state of mental and physical weakness.”

The sentencing hearing for Osshun Gum is scheduled to take place in early June.
