Previously, Korean trot artist Im Young Woong lost to rookie Kpop group LE SSERAFIM on “Music Bank”, drawing suspicions.
According to the Yeongdeungpo Police Office of Seoul, on May 28th, they started an investigation and assigned personnel to look into score manipulation claims over the May 13th episode of KBS’s “Music Bank”.
In particular, in the “Music Bank” episode aired on May 13th, the trot singer Im Young Woong got 0 point for broadcast scores, thus losing 1st place to the rising Kpop girl group LE SSERAFIM. Fans of the male singer were extremely shocked at this result, and turned to demand KBS to disclose the broadcast score calculation methods. According to these fans, Im Young Woong’s scores in other categories overwhelm LE SSERAFIM, and he also promoted actively on various KBS shows and radios, thus couldn’t have got 0 broadcast score.
They then accused KBS of possible score manipulation, and a netizen even requested investigation from the police. In response to the matter, the police stated: “We will determine whether criminal acts would be established over the series of actions at KBS’s “Music Bank”.
The investigation process will be shared via writing in the future, they added.
