Past remarks Of Hwang Ha-na’s Father Re-examined, “I Hope She Becomes An Example For Others”

As Hwang Ha-na was recently embroiled in a new drug scandal, her father’s past remarks were also brought up

Hwang Ha-na, the only granddaughter of Namyang Dairy founder, has been charged with drug use various times before being booked for an internal investigation for another drug allegation together with actor Lee Sun-kyun.

In 2015, Hwang Ha-na was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation on charges of administering methamphetamine three times at her residence in Seoul. She was caught taking drugs again during the probation period and was imprisoned for a total of one year and 8 months.

After being released from prison, Hwang Ha-na appeared on a KBS program in November last year together with her father Hwang Jae-pil, and said she wanted to help people with drug addiction.

At that time, she said, “I’m confident that I won’t take drugs again”, adding “My teeth are broken and I need to fix them. My facial skin has also been damaged severely. There are scars because I scratched too much due to bugs. I didn’t know it would leave so many scars.”

Hwang Jae-pil asked his daughter to “admit her wrongdoings and continue to extend the time of not using drugs”. He added, “If my daughter can overcome her addiction, I hope she can become a person who teaches other kids how to do it”.

However, only a year later, Hwang Ha-na was once again summoned for a drug investigation. The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency is conducting an internal investigation into the drug allegations of eight people, including Lee Sun-kyun and Hwang Ha-na.
