A document believed to be the cue sheet for the 2022 MMA has been spreading, drawing attention from many fans.
As 2022 approaches its end, award ceremonies, which are festivals for Kpop fans, are being held one by one. On November 26th, the 2022 Melon Music Awards (hereinafter referred to as 2022 MMA), was held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul, and drew attention from many people.
At the 2022 MMA, Ive and NewJeans both won the “Rookie of the Year” award. In addition, IVE received great cheers by winning the grand prize Daesang of “Best Song of the Year” with their song “LOVE DIVE”, which was released in April.
On the same day, BTS and IVE won a total of 4 awards, while trot singer Lim Young Woong won a whopping 5 awards.
As MMA is a famous ceremony with huge topicality, many fans are interested even after the awards ceremony.
Soon, a document that appears to be the cue sheet of the 2022 MAMA started to spread across various online communities. The same document contains all sorts of details, from stage locations, formations, props, to the number of dancers.
In addition, the document stated that only 5 artists, including ENHYPEN, 10cm, MONSTA X, Lim Young Woong, and Melomance, were using MR (Music Record) to perform on stage or use a live band.
MR is a term which means the artists use instrumentals as the background music without any recorded audio, and so have to sing live.
This also means that according to this alleged cuesheet, only 2 idol groups, ENHYPEN and MONSTA X, performed live.
Meanwhile, other artists allegedly use LIVE AR, which means background music that includes both instrumentals and recorded voices. Generally, this will cover up mistakes made during singing, and idols who use LIVE AR do not necessarily have to sing live.
Witnessing this, netizens showed conflicting responses. In particular, some expressed disappointment, saying, “It’s an awards ceremony and yet they didn’t perform live”, and “I want to see live performances”. Others defended artists who chose LIVE AR, claiming that they still sing live over the backtrack, and used it to deliver the most perfect stages.
Meanwhile, the “2022 MAMA AWARDS” will be held at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan from the 29th to the 30th of November. As a result, many people are paying close attention to which artists will win the grand prize at MAMA.
