Korean netizens are raising suspicions about Genie Music Awards’ decision to award NCT Dream with 2 grand prizes.
On the evening of October 8th, the 2022 Genie Music Awards (hereinafter referred to as GMA) was official held with the attendance of various famous names in the Korean entertainment industry, including PSY, Taeyeon, NCT Dream, Red Velvet, IVE, (G)I-DLE, The Boyz, and more. However, after the results were announced, many netizens started to criticize the prize’s award criteria.
In particular, controversial opinions arose after the 2022 GMA awarded NCT Dream with 2 Daesangs of the night, “The Top Album” and “The Top Artist”. While some believe that these prizes were well-deserved, many netizens believe otherwise, and pointed their fingers towards the criteria previously revealed by GMA.
