Nam Joo Hyuk’s highschool classmate jumps to his defense amid bullying allegations

A post defending Nam Joo Hyuk, who was accused of school violence, was uploaded.

On June 30th, a post was uploaded to the online community Nate board titled, ‘I was Nam Joo Hyuk’s classmate in the same high school’. The original poster (OP) claimed that he and Nam Joo Hyuk were in the same class during the second grade of high school.

OP wrote, “Nam Joo Hyuk and I were not close friends, but I wanted to tell you about the exact facts from my point of view as his classmate. I felt proud just because I was in the same class as a celebrity. I find it frustrating and unfair because of the malicious allegation that subtly mixes truth and lies.

OP continued, “I never saw Nam Joo Hyuk cursed and used violence against his classmates. I don’t think I could have known everything, but I would have known more objectively if school violence or breadshuttle occurred in my class in the first place.”

OP also testified about the allegations surrounding Nam Joo Hyuk.  First, regarding the accusation that Nam Joo Hyuk forcibly took away his classmate’s smartphone and made payments on the Internet, OP said, “There was an incident where a student in my class spent money using the homeroom teacher’s phone. No one else, including Nam Joo Hyuk, took part in that, and I still remember it because it was an act that crossed the line due to that friend’s wrong behavior,” emphasizing that Nam Joo Hyuk was not involved.

Regarding the information that Nam Joo Hyuk forced a fight between his alleged victim with an unwanted opponent under the name of ‘sparring‘, OP clarified that the facts were maliciously twisted, “Sometimes during breaks and lunchtime, we wrestled in the back of the class, but it was not professional wrestling, but bumping our bodies against each other.”

OP criticized Nam Joo Hyuk’s accuser, saying, “The intention of reporting a subtle mixture of truth and lies was malicious and impure,” adding, “I think it’s right to talk only about Nam Joo Hyuk, whom I personally knew and saw, so I’ll stop here.” To prove the credibility of his words, OP disclosed his diploma as evidence that he went to the same school as Nam Joo Hyuk.

On June 28th, Nam Joo Hyuk’s high school classmate A claimed through a media outlet that he was bullied by Nam Joo Hyuk in high school. Accordingly, Nam Joo Hyuk committed violence and verbal abuse to steal his smartphone to pay for online games and items. Nam Joo Hyuk was also accused of encouraging fights between his classmates.

On the same day, Nam Joo Hyuk’s agency, Management SOOP, completely denied the allegation, saying it was ‘groundless’, and filed a criminal complaint against the media and the informant for defamation.

Below is the full text of OP’s post.

“Hello, first of all, I was a high school classmate who attended the same class as actor Nam Joo Hyuk. (To be exact, we were in the same class during the second year of high school.) I wasn’t particularly a close friend with Nam Joo Hyuk, but I would like to tell you the exact facts from the perspective of his classmate.

I think it may be presumptuous or excessive to write this as a friend who was not close to Nam Joo Hyuk, but I was proud just because I was in the same class as a celebrity. And I find it frustrating and unfair because of the malicious allegations that cleverly mixes truth and lies, so after consideration, I finally thought I should write this.

Not only me, but everyone else would think that abusive language, assault, and breadshuttle are excessive school violence. But I never saw anyone in my class order others to buy them bread, nor did I ever see Nam Joo Hyuk swearing and using violence against a classmate.  Of course, I can’t know everything, but if there was school violence or bread shuttle problems in my class in the first place, I would have been able to know it from an objective standpoint more than anyone else.

From my point of view, I believe that the above statements are definitely false, but smartphone payments and sparring are what actually happened in our class.

First, there was an incident where a student in my class made a payment through the cell phone of the homeroom teacher. No one, including Nam Joo Hyuk, was involved, and I still remember it because it was an act that crossed the line due to that friend’s wrong behavior.

And, I think you know about WWE Pro Wrestling. We, who were full of energy, sometimes played around at the back of our class during breaks and lunchtime. If making a circle and sparring did happen in my class and I don’t remember at all, it would be ridiculous. In reality, there was no one who took the lead. We were just arguing and playing with each other. After reading the accusation, I believe that the above facts were maliciously adapted and reported.

I could confidently say that something like stealing cell phones and sparring did happen or didn’t deny it. However, knowing all the facts, I thought that if I did not say anything and just passed on, I would be just a bystander who condoned the facts.

Again, that post is malicious and impure with the intention of mixing truth and lies in a subtle way. I want to talk about other incidents, but I don’t know for sure, so I think it’s right to talk only about Nam Joo Hyuk, whom I personally knew and saw, so I’ll stop writing here. Thank you for reading this long post.”
