K-pop superstar BLACKPINK became history by setting yet another world’s record
According to YouTube on June 30th, the number of subscribers for BLACKPINK’s YouTube subscribers exceeded 75 million, making the girl group the first pop artist to have ever achieved such a milestone.
The competition to this mark was extremely fierce, with BLACKPINK coming out on top, followed by Justin Bieber, who currently has 69.3 million subscribers, and BTS, who records 68.7 million subscribers as of the moment.
With the new achievement, BLACKPINK once again broke their own record. Previously in September 2021, the Kpop girl group surpassed Justin Bieber to become the most subscribed pop artist on YouTube, with 65.5 million subscribers.
Previously in 2019, BLACKPINK also became the first Kpop group to surpass 1 billion YouTube views for their official music video of “DDU-DU DDU-DU”.
Meanwhile, the number of YouTube views for Lisa‘s solo song ‘LALISA’ music video recently exceeded 500 million, having recorded 73.6 million views within 24 hours of release, and reached 100 million views within two days. This makes Lisa the fastest female Kpop soloist to cross the 500 million views mark.
BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel currently has 32 videos, with a cumulative number of views of over 24.1 billion.
