“A lot of people are curious, but I haven’t heard from SBS yet,” author Bae said in a webtoon page on May 10.

Previously, “Running Man” was caught in a controversy over plagiarism of “Money Game.” The controversy arose from the episode of “The Return of Yoomes Bond – A 100 million man”, which was aired on April 28.

The setting of the game that was broadcasted was similar to the rules of Money Game. They pointed out the similarities that participants live in a limited space, that they can purchase goods only through intercoms, and that prices in containers are more expensive than real prices.

On April 29, a representative from Running Man said, “It’s true that we modified the game by referring to author Bae’s “Money Game”. “The concept of Money Game matches with Running Man. So we decided to take it into account and made up the race,” he admitted.

“I sincerely apologize for not being able to contact Naver Webtoon and Bae Jin Soo author in advance,” he said.

However, author Bae later didn’t receive any apology in person or see any official apology on the show. According to him, the production team demanded proof of copyright violation.

The author said, “I talked with (Running Man) producers about copyright infringement through the person in charge. I was told to give evidence. The creator is losing his energy.”

Money Game, meanwhile, is a brain game that surrounds the 44.8 billion won prize. Money Game was made into a movie called “Tower”, which was produced by The Tower Pictures and directed by director Kim Ji Hoon.
