‘Castaway Diva’ Apologizes Amid Controversy Over Inconvenient Filming

The production team of “Castaway Diva” has bowed its head in response to controversy surrounding the inconvenience caused during filming

On the 13th, the “Castaway Island” team stated to Star News, “We would like to express our deep apologies for any inconvenience caused to the citizens. Although we explained the filming details in advance to residents and relevant authorities, there were shortcomings in the process of execution and rectification,” they said. They added, “We will do our best to restore the situation as soon as possible.”

The controversy arose when it was alleged that the “Castaway Diva” team left piles of rocks that they had used for filming on a beach in Jeju. These rocks were suspected to be the ones used in the scene where the protagonist Seo Mok-ha (played by Park Eun-bin) sends an ‘SOS’ signal with stones while living alone on a deserted island for 15 years, as shown in the episode that aired on the 28th of last month.

However, claims were made that the production team did not properly clean up the rocks after filming and left without doing so, leading to the controversy. There were also criticisms that the filming took place without proper cooperation and permits from the local administration.
