“Middle-aged romance is so fun!” Reviews about Kim Hee Sun and Yoo Hae Jin’s “Honey Sweet”

“Honey Sweet” is already receiving enthusiastic responses.

The movie “Honey Sweet” is a romantic comedy about a single mother who raises a child alone while working for a confectionery company.

It could have been an obvious romance, but the fresh combination of Kim Hee Sun and Yoo Hae Jin as well as their freshness and comfortable romance make the audience feel relaxed.

The work begins with a day of Chi Ho, who never gets out of the set routine. Then he meets Il Young, a single mother with a college student daughter, and receives her positive energy. They spend time together, sometimes like friends and sometimes like lovers.

The overall story is all about the two’s sweet and comical romance. However, the actors’ passionate acting stood out, and they never led the story in a clichéd way.

Audiences who came to watch the work early on focused on the fact that “Honey Sweet” is Yoo Hae Jin’s first comic romance since his debut and evaluated, “Yoo Hae Jin was Chi Ho himself.”

The work was adapted by director Lee Han from a script written in the past by director Lee Byeong Heon, who directed “Be Melodramatic” and “Extreme Job”. Therefore, director Lee Byeong Heon’s unique tiki-taka is melted in the lines exchanged by the characters.

The audience highly praised this point and showed reactions such as “Kim Hee Sun and Yoo Hae Jin’s chemistry is great“, “I don’t think much, then I burst into laughter” and “It gives me a feeling of ‘I know everything, but I still want to watch it in person’.

However, there were also negative responses such as “You should focus only on laughter, not on the story.

Meanwhile, “Honey Sweet” adds laughter and joy with cameo appearances of top-notch actors who have deep connections with director Lee Han.

“Honey Sweet”, which brought laughter at every moment, was released on August 15th and is being screened at theaters nationwide.
