Lee Sun-kyun’s Funeral Procession Led By Eldest Son With Father’s Portrait, Wife Jeon Hye-jin Sobbed 

On the morning of December 29th, the coffin of the late actor Lee Sun-kyun was borne out in a solemn atmosphere at the funeral hall of Seoul National Hospital in Yeongeon-dong, Seoul.

Apart from his wife Jeon Hye-jin, the ceremony was also attended by CEO of his agency, his best friend Yoon Hee-seok, his son who returned home while studying abroad, and numerous colleagues.

Throughout the ceremony, Jeon Hye-jin couldn’t hold back her tears and sobbed heavily. Yoon Hee-seok participated in the funeral procession standing in front of Jeon Hye-jin. He cried on the way to bid the last farewell to his best friend.

In particular, Lee Sun-kyun’s eldest son, who is still a middle school student, came to the forefront to hold the portrait of his father. The scene of the actor’s young son calmly stepping forward with his father’s portrait brought tears to people around him.

As Jeon Hye-jin had guarded her husband’s funeral during this whole time, she sobbed uncontrollably when Lee Sun-kyun’s portrait was loaded on the funeral car. She then approached her sons and hugged them, fulfilling her role as a mother until the end even in the difficult situation.

Lee Sun-kyun had been investigated on drug charges since October and even before his death, the late actor still denied the drug allegations. On the 27th, 112 received a report from Jeon Hye-jin, saying “My husband left the house leaving something like his last will”. Later, the police found Lee Sun-kyun in an unconscious state inside his car at a park in Jongno-gu, Seoul. After his agency officially announced that the actor had passed away, the police is also expected to close the drug investigation as it is no longer possible to prosecute the suspect.
