Lee Sun-kyun’s father passed away 3 months after his death
Actress Jeon Hye-jin is expressing her sorrow due to a family bereavement
According to Wikitree on March 27th, Mr. Lee, the father of the late actor Lee Sun-kyun and the father-in-law of Jeon Hye-jin, passed away on this day.
On the same day, Jeon Hye-jin‘s agency HODU&U Entertainment cautiously stated in a phone call with Wikitree, “It’s true that Lee Sun-kyun’s father passed away. It’s difficult to provide further comments.”
Earlier this morning, a post appeared on an online community announcing the death of Lee Sun-kyun’s father. The author of the post, A, wrote, “I just received a call from an acquaintance related to actor Lee Sun-kyun. They said his father passed away early this morning at the hospital. I feel anger again at the authorities and the media, who are the culprits responsible for making one household so unhappy.”
A emphasized, “What have they gained by pushing one household and those around them to such misery? I hope that the police, higher authorities and the media involved in this incident will face severe consequences.”
On October 19th last year, the drug allegations against the late Lee Sun-kyun were reported. Prior to that, on the 14th of the same month, Lee Sun-kyun had been converted to a suspect and was subject to a criminal investigation.
After undergoing 3 rounds of police questioning for about 2 months, Lee Sun-kyun was found dead on December 17th in the vicinity of Waryong Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, causing shock.
Following this, cultural figures such as director Bong Joon-ho and singer Yoon Jong-shin urged for an investigation into the circumstances of the leak of investigative information through a statement titled “The Demands of Cultural Figures Facing the Death of the Late Lee Sun-kyun”.
