Actor Lee Seung Gi was selected as the No.1 target for pseudo-religious groups.
The May 30th broadcast of SBS’s entertainment program “Strong Heart League”, featured the guest appearance of Kim Kang Rim, who had left a pseudo-religious group and is currently working as a counselor for victims of such groups.
Revealing the reason for his appearance on the show, Kim Kang Rim said, “In 2023, there are about two million followers of pseudo-religious group believers. Many people are not aware of the seriousness of this situation, so I decided to come out on this show to talk about it.” He emphasized, “Pseudo-religious groups are not real religions. These are scams and those people are trying to deceive people.”
When MC Kang Ho Dong asked, “Are there any potential targets here?”, Kim Kang Rim surprised everyone when he said, “Actors Lee Seung Gi and Lee Hyo Jung”. Upon hearing that, Lee Seung Gi reacted strongly, saying “You really don’t understand me”, then stood up from his seat. Surprised by Kim Kang Rim’s mention, Lee Hyo Jung commented, “Getting caught up in a pseudo-religious group… that’s unexpected.”
Explaining why he chose Lee Seung Gi as a potential target, Kim Kang Rim said, “From the perspective of a pseudo-religious group, he leaves a good impression. He gives off great energy and doesn’t seem to have depression. He seems to be living well and I can feel that he will achieve great success”, drawing laughter.
Kim Kang Rim advised, “In order not to fall into pseudo-religious groups, training for responses is necessary. ‘If my family were to get involved in such groups, it would be a disaster’. You need to have a mindset of understanding the situations.”
