Actor Lee Dong Gun is drawing attention by mentioning his daughter after his divorce.
On June 26th, the Netflix original series ‘Celebrity’ press conference was held in Seoul. Park Gyu Young, Kang Min Hyuk, Lee Chung Ah, Lee Dong Gun, Jeon Hyo Sung, and director Kim Cheol Gyu attended the event.
‘Celebrity’ is a Netflix series that depicts the true faces of glamorous celebrities who jump into the world where fame alone turns into money.
In the drama, Lee Dong Gun plays the role of Jin Tae Jeon, the owner of Taegang, a law firm with both money and power. It is his new drama after TV Chosun’s ‘Leverage’ in 2019, approximately four years ago.
Regarding his comeback activities after a long time, Lee Dong Gun stated, “I thought there must be a reason why I shouldn’t take a break from work. I believed that it is important for a father to spend time together with his daughter during the process of her growing up from the age of 5 to 7.”
He continued, “Although I cannot always be by her side, I wanted to alleviate the anxiety about her father’s absence, so I gave my heart and time to spend with her,” revealing his affectionate feelings for his daughter.
Lee Dong Gun got married to Cho Yoon-hee, with whom he co-starred in the KBS2 drama ‘The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop’ in 2017. In December of the following year, they welcomed their first daughter, Roa, but divorced in 2020, three years after their marriage. Custody rights were given to his ex-wife, Cho Yoon Hee.
‘Celebrity’, in which Lee Dong Gun resumed his acting activities three years after the divorce, will be released on Netflix on the upcoming June 30th.
