Kwon Twins Recalls Trainee Days In YG, “Lisa Is Just On Another Level”

On August 2nd, former YGX dancers Deukie and Dony, known as Kwon Twins, drew attention as they made their guest appearances on BIGBANG Daesung’s YouTube channel. 

The two revealed their whereabouts about leaving YG, where they worked for 16 years, and shared interesting stories such as recalling their special relationship with BIGBANG’s Taeyang.

Deukie and Dony confessed honest feelings about their images and malicious comments they received when appearing on “Street Man Fighter”. The two emphasized that they were criticized for their delinquent-like images, which are arrogant and swaggering, but their dance skills gained recognition. Especially, Deukie and Dony praised BIGBANG, pointing out that G-Dragon is good at freestyle while Taeyang follows choreographies well, and explained that BIGBANG’s performances are different from typical idol synchronized dances.

In addition, Dony shocked everyone when he revealed that he used to be a trainee at YG and almost became a member of WINNER. Daesung said, “Back then, as I heard, he intimidated the trainees too much. He demonstrated the utmost discipline, almost like the head teacher”. Dony agreed that YG really is very strict about manners. The two dancers then compared their life in other companies after leaving YG, saying “Other companies have a lot of choreographies and sharp group dances”.

Deukie picked BLACKPINK’s Lisa as the best dancer in YG, saying “Lisa is just on another level”. Meanwhile, Dony chose SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu as the best among idols. As for Mingyu, Dony said, “He’s a style that flaunts while dancing”.
