In a Chinese television program, a participant disclosed information about the situation of Kris Wu while incarcerated. The participant asserted that the former EXO member is working on new music, and he is even participating in talent competitions while in prison.
The program participant mentioned that they have a friend working at the Beijing Detention Center, where Kris Wu is serving his sentence. They shared, “He is composing songs with a positive spirit and actively participating in talent shows within the prison.”
Kris Wu was sentenced to 13 years in prison by the Chaoyang District People’s Court in Beijing. Additionally, the former idol will be deported from China immediately after serving his sentence. This sentence was related to charges of rape and group sexual assault. Despite the defendant’s denials in 2021, the court ruled that he was guilty.
In July 2023, Kris Wu and his legal team decided to appeal the verdict, feeling that the 13-year prison sentence was “unjust.” The former star hopes for a reduced sentence after this appeal.
