Korean netizens dissatisfied with ENHYPEN Sunghoon’s greetings towards TWICE when MCing alongside Jang Wonyoung
Many netizens pointed out that even with other artists, Sunghoon’s greetings don’t seem to be sincere.
ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon is currently involved in a controversy over his attitude on a Korean online community. Sunghoon is currently the MC of the weekly music show Music Bank along with Jang Wonyoung (I’VE). However, when compared to his female co-host, Sunghoon is called out on his ‘half-hearted’ greetings towards other artists.
On the latest episode of “Music Bank” broadcast on November 12, TWICE performed their new title track “SCIENTIST” and also had an interview with the duo of MCs. However, after finishing the interview, the viewers noticed that Sunghoon only bobbed his head to greet TWICE instead of bowing like Jang Wonyoung. This situation makes many netizens uncomfortable because TWICE is a major senior who debuted 5 years before Sunghoon (TWICE debuted in 2015 while ENHYPEN debuted in 2020).
Notably, Korean netizens also pointed out some other Music Bank interviews to prove that TWICE was not the only artist that Sunghoon greeted in this controversial way. The member of ENHYPEN also failed to bow properly after interviews with both female and male groups, namely LIGHTSUM and The Boyz. Although fans still defend Sunghoon, many Korean netizens believe that he needs to improve his greetings to be more sincere. Some viewers also claim that Sunghoon should learn from the previous Music Bank’s MC who is his senior from the same company, TXT’s Soobin, to do better.
