Kim Seon Ho, who sobbed “after private life controversy”, belatedly confessed the meaning of those tears
Actor Kim Seon Ho expressed his feelings about standing in front of the public after a long time.
Kim Seon Ho met Wikitree at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul on the afternoon of June 12th ahead of the release of the movie “The Childe”.
“The Childe” tells about various forces, including a mysterious man named “Nobleman” (Kim Seon Ho), appearing in front of boxing player Marco (Kang Tae Joo), who wanders around illegal boxing stadiums in the Philippines, with different purposes and chasing him madly.
This movie is drawing a lot of attention as Kim Seon Ho’s screen debut and first media acting since the controversy over his private life. Director Park Hoon Jung talked earlier about the reason why he chose Kim Seon Ho despite the controversy, “I had no intention of stopping the movie and there was no alternative other than Kim Seon Ho.”
In this regard, Kim Seon Ho confessed, “Actually, he didn’t say that there was no alternative to me. He asked, ‘I’m fine, but can you do it?’ I replied ‘Yes’, so he said, ‘Then let’s try again.’ I agreed to do this work because it was already delayed and I didn’t want to cause more harm. Participating in ‘The Childe’ was something I was grateful for.“
In October 2021, Kim Seon Ho was embroiled in controversy over his private life raised by his ex-girlfriend A shortly after the end of tvN’s drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”. At that time, he dropped out of KBS2’s “2 Days & 1 Night”, on which he was a fixed member, and stopped all activities.
As the incident grew, A explained, “There was a time when that person and I truly loved each other. I also feel bad seeing him collapse in just a moment due to some parts of my post. I have already received an apology from him, and apparently there were some misunderstandings between us.” However, it took quite a long time for Kim Seon Ho to stand in front of the public again.
Kim Seon Ho was asked if he felt desperate. He confessed, “I felt grateful when I did the play ‘Touching the Void’ and the movie ‘The Childe’, but I also felt desperate for the first time since I was in this field. Because it took so much effort, I thought, ‘What did I do before that?’ It became like when I started acting a long time ago.“
Prior to “The Childe”, Kim Seon Ho stood on stage in July last year through the play “Touching the Void”. Kim Seon Ho, who met reporters at the press call, said in tears before the full-fledged press conference, “First of all, I’m sorry to say this at the press call. From spring to summer this year, many people have worked hard to make this play. I’m sorry to the team and everyone again because I feel like I’m becoming someone here.“
Regarding this, he smilingly shared, “It was hard to say sorry. The actors waiting in the back seemed to be having a hard time. I felt bad about that and it was a complex emotion. I think I made a mistake because I was very nervous. I shouldn’t have come out, but I came out and said, ‘Ah!’“
