Kim Sae Ron met reporters after the ruling “I can’t explain because I’m afraid”

Actress Kim Sae Ron, who was fined for drunk driving, opened up about various suspicions surrounding her.

On April 5th, Judge Lee Hwan Ki of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kim Sae Ron, who was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act, to a fine of 20 million won.

The court stated, “Drunk driving is a crime that can cause serious damage to people’s lives and physical properties, and severe punishment is necessary. In addition, Kim Sae Ron’s driving distance was not short. However, we decided on this sentence considering the fact that she admitted her wrongdoing and had compensated for most of the damage.”

Kim Sae Ron, who was silent at the trial, revealed her feelings to the reporters.

According to The Korea Economic Daily, after the trial, Kim Sae Ron stood in front of reporters and said, “I have nothing to say other than ‘I’m sorry’ (about drunk driving).”

She added, “I have nothing to say about the fact that I drove under the influence of alcohol. There were too many articles about other things that were not true. I can’t explain because I’m afraid.”

When the reporters asked about the parts that were not true, she left the scene without answering.

On May 18th last year, Kim Sae Ron collided with guardrails and street trees several times while driving drunk in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Her blood alcohol level at that time was measured to be over 0.2%, far exceeding the standard for license revocation (0.08%).

During her first trial held last month, Kim Sae Ron’s side appealed for leniency citing her difficult living conditions. However, since then, false job certification photos, a change in legal representation, and the sighting of her at a gambling pub have been exposed.

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron has been dropped from popular TV shows such as Netflix’s original series “Bloodhounds” and SBS’s “Trolley” following her drunk driving accident.
