Jeon Do Yeon, “Meeting Yoo Jae Suk on ‘You Quiz’… I thought he would give me his phone number but he didn’t”
Actress Jeon Do Yeon revealed a behind-the-scenes story about her appearance on tvN’s program “You Quiz on the Block”.
On April 5th, Jeon Do Yeon, who plays the main character in Netflix’s recently released movie “Kill Boksoon”, had an interview in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Directed by PD Byun Hyun Sung of “The Merciless” and “Kingmaker”, “Kill Boksoon” is an action film about Gil Bok Soon, a legendary killer in the contract murder industry and a single mom, getting involved in an inevitable confrontation ahead of her contract renewal with MK Entertainment. MK looks like an event company from the outside, but it specializes in “contract killings”. There, commissioned murders are referred to as “productions” and murder plans are “scenarios”. The movie was officially invited to the 73rd Berlin Film Festival and premiered there for the first time.
Apart from presenting powerful action acting, Jeon Do Yeon also skillfully portrays the struggles of a single mother raising her middle school daughter Jae Young (Kim Si A) alone, and the complicated relationship between Gil Bok Soon and MK’s CEO Cha Min Gyu (Seol Kyung Gu). As a result, “Kill Boksoon” climbed to the top spot in the non-English language film category on Netflix just three days after its release.
The actress recently met ‘National MC’ Yoo Jae Suk, who was her classmate at Seoul Institute of the Arts, on tvN’s entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block”. In this regard, Jeon Do Yeon recalled that time and shared, “I was amazed throughout the whole recording. It was so fascinating seeing him next to me.”
She then jokingly said, “Yoo Jae Suk kept calling me ‘my friend’ so I thought he would give me his phone number, but he didn’t. I should have come to him and asked for it? The atmosphere was not right. Yoo Jae Suk should have asked for mine instead”, drawing laughter
Revealing that her co-star, actress Kim Si A, is a fan of Yoo Jae Suk, Jeon Do Yeon said, “I received a long text message from Si A. She asked me if she could come to meet Yoo Jae Suk with me at the end of the show. I said ‘yes’, but there was no way for us to meet him.”
