Kim Hyun Joong: “I never asked them to reduce child support, is suffering due to malicious comments”
Kim Hyun Joong’s agency refuted the claim that the singer did not want to pay child support properly and did not meet his child.
Kim Hyun Joong‘s agency Henecia said in a statement on Nov 30th, “The paternity test was a necessary process for his parental right to be legally recognized. After the Supreme Court ruling, Kim Hyun-joong has contacted A several times through his lawyer to discuss matters related to interview negotiations and child support, but received no reply.” He added, “As the family court adjusted, Kim Hyun Joong has been temporarily paying 2 million won in child support.”
“The news that Kim Hyun Joong submitted income evidence to the court to reduce child support from 2 million won is false. A asked for more temporary child support during the mediation process, and the child support fee recommended by the court was 1.6 million won according to Kim Hyun Joong’s document,” claimed Kim Hyun Joong’s side.
The agency also refuted claims that Kim Hyun Joong expressed his intention to refuse to raise or meet his own child.
Kim’s agency said, “In order for the custody to be decided, the civil and criminal cases between Kim Hyun Joong and A needed to be completed,” adding, “Kim Hyun Joong and A had been in a legal battle for a long time and Kim Hyun Joong was unable to meet his son until the child turned seven.”

In a related development, on Nov 29th, former journalist-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin Ho said in a video released on his YouTube channel “Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho” that Kim Hyun Joong has not met his child and has not paid any child support for the past 7 years.
Kim Hyun Joong appeared on the MBN entertainment program “Passionate Goodbye,” which aired on Nov 28th, to announce his return to the entertainment industry after about five years.
