K-netizens react to criticism over BTS Suga enlisting as public service worker

BTS Suga drew attention as he recently announced his enlistment

A netizen recently made a post on Nate Pann mentioning BTS Suga’s enlistment. They said, “He (Suga) is the person who mentioned military service the most among BTS members but seems to be criticizing the most because of military service issue”

Citing Suga’s lyrics about military service, such as “We’ll make sure to go to the military when it’s time to go” (“What do you think?”) and “Healthy guys are classified Level 4, so why am I being so uselessly healthy? Military service? It’s a death sentence for the young, I envy the lowest 10% of the nation” (“Adult Child”), the netizen pointed out that Suga disparaged public service workers as the “lowest 10% of the nation” but he ended up enlisting as a public service worker himself.

Further criticizing Suga, this netizen said, “Due to his words, people also criticized other members. He even played golf and injured his shoulder to join the army as a public service worker”.

In response, other netizens commented:

– You’re right. Those who get startled over there, aren’t they abnormal?ㅋㅋ

– They are not even doing alternative military service in an illegal way. Stop bothering them

– Look at the lyricsㅋㅋ Seems like Korean hip-hop rappers really don’t want to go to the military. They wrote those lyrics just to mention military service issues only

– Why are people criticizing public service workers? He was classified as a public service worker because he had shoulder surgery, but people are still criticizing him for that?

– Suga fans, please don’t leave any more comments. Just report them to the agency
