IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is gaining attention for her thoughtful actions towards a deaf fan during a recent fan signing event
A touching fanacc from a Japanese fan who attended Jang Wonyoung‘s fan signing event has been shared online.
The Japanese fan, A, revealed their hearing impairment in the post, “After waiting in a long line, when it was finally my turn, Wonyoung greeted me warmly.”
Due to A’s inability to hear, Jang Wonyoung could only understand their name, and A mentioned, “After confessing this to Wonyoung, she made a surprised expression and created a hand heart while saying, ‘I’m sorry, how can we communicate?'”
Upon learning about A’s hearing impairment, Jang Wonyoung began moving her lips slowly, attempting to engage in conversation.
When a staff member signaled the end of the allotted time, Jang Wonyoung politely extended the conversation, “Please wait a moment,” and proceeded to finish the signing event after another attempt at conversation.
In response, A added, “While others ended in about 25 seconds, mine lasted for over a minute. Wonyoung’s extraordinary response and consideration were the best I’ve experienced. I am happy today,” expressing their gratitude.
Following the publication of this post, various reviews of other fans who attended the fansign with similar experiences appeared on various social media platforms.
Another Japanese fan said, “I am also a deaf person. When I participated in the signing event yesterday, Wonyoung noticed my hearing impairment and communicated using gestures and expressions. She even made the sign language gesture for ‘I love you.’ Wonyoung is truly kind.”
