With the launching of “Min Hee-jin’s Girl Group” and “Sakura’s Group”, HYBE is drawing a new blueprint for 2022

The craze for KPOP rookies to debut in 2022 is getting more enthusiastic. From the news of big agencies launching new groups to small and medium-sized companies heralding new performances, rookies are expected to fill 2022 with diverse activities.

In order to win the title of “Best Rookie of 2022”, HYBE has decided to move quickly. They are determined to protect their “impressive achievements” in the new KPOP era unconditionally.

HYBE has shown tremendous growth in recent years as BTS, who has been together with them since they were still called Big Hit Entertainment, is enjoying their career peak. HYBE has always been the attention center in the KPOP market, which has expanded worldwide with its huge global influence. With this monument, the company will also launch a blueprint for a large rookie group project in 2022.

HYBE, which has achieved unprecedented success, will debut a girl group this year to prove their capabilities. Among the 3 girl groups that are attracting global attention in the music market even before their debuts, the rookie group being prepared by ADOR (All Doors One Room), which was founded by HYBE CBO Min Hee-jin, is in the spotlight.

The so-called “Min Hee-jin’s Girl Group”, which has not been unveiled yet, will mostly consist of members selected through the Plus Global Audition in 2019. Before moving to HYBE, CBO Min was the person who designed the concepts of SM’s girl groups, such as Girls’ Generation, f(x), and Red Velvet. In addition, she presented the terms ‘conceptual’ through SHINee and was also the one behind the project that created EXO’s symbol and unique worldview. Therefore, it’s easy to understand why the whole entertainment industry is paying attention to what kind of group will be created when her unique visual directing skills meet with HYBE’s style.

One of the reasons that raise netizens’ expectations for Min Hee-jin‘s girl group is that it is the first team she introduces after moving to HYBE. Since she was in charge of all the idol groups that are considered “best groups of KPOP”, public expectations are being raised even higher. Knowing about that, CBO Min confidently said, “I certainly have expectations to evoke a new sensation”, when appearing on the broadcast of tvN’s entertainment show “Yoo Quiz On The Block” aired in December last year.

Source Music will release a new girl group for the first time in 8 years since GFRIEND disbanded last year. IZ*ONE Miyawaki Sakura, Kim Chae-Won, and Heo Yun-jin are preparing the so-called ‘Sakura Girl Group‘ as members. In particular, Sakura and Kim Chae-won have established a global fandom to some extent thanks to their careers as IZ*ONE, so if a girl group including them goes on a scramble, considerable positive results are expected not only in Korea but also abroad.

HYBE is also exploring new girl groups through the label Belift Lab, a joint venture with CJ ENM. In the first half of the year, they plan to launch season 2 of the audition program ‘I-Land‘ and find the members for a new girlgroup. As ENHYPEN, who was selected and debuted in Season 1 of ‘I-Land‘, has grown into a global artist, expectations and curiosity about the members to be discovered through Season 2 are increasing.

HYBE President Bang Si-hyuk directly announced plans to debut various rookie groups through a press conference held on November 4 last year. During the process, Chairman Bang and CEO Park Ji-won mentioned HYBE’s “realization of expansion without boundaries” and emphasized that it is a “borderless” era and specifically recalled the ultimate goal they pursue.

At the time, HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si-hyuk spoke on the progress of the global audition, “In the borderless era where going one direction cannot be the answer, more collaboration and communication are needed.”

HYBE America and Geffen Records, a label under the Universal Music Group (UMG), kicked off their joint venture by announcing the global girl group project through ‘HYBE X Geffen Global Girl Group Audition‘ as an attempt of HYBE to lead and expand in the American music market. The plan is to create a team that targets the global market through a local-based training system.

HYBE Japan, with its headquarters in Japan, will launch a local rookie boy group. Four trainees from Season 1 of ‘I-Land‘ and additional members selected through the new audition program ‘&AUDITION‘ scheduled to air in Japan will form a lineup and be managed by HYBE Labels Japan.

HYBE drew a specific blueprint for 2022. From the beginning of the new year, as rookie groups from other agencies are joining the race, attention is being paid to whether HYBE’s group will be able to take home the ‘Rookie of the Year‘ award.
