How are the cast of K-drama “Business Proposal” doing after two years? (2024 updated)
After the explosive success of the K-drama “Business Proposal”, Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Se Jeong, Kim Min Kyu, and Seol In Ah are all active with various different projects.
When it comes to the most successful K-dramas in the 1st half of 2022, “Business Proposal” would be an irrefutable name. Despite the somewhat “cliché” plot, the series caused quite a sensation, both in and outside of Korea.

Kim Se Jeong saw disappointing results with “Today’s Webtoon”
After “Business Proposal”, Kim Se Jeong is the first to make a return via the comedy series “Today’s Webtoon”. The series received high anticipation, but unfortunately, did not perform as well as expected.
In “Today’s Webtoon”, Kim Se Jeong assumed the role of female lead On Ma Eum, who works as a webtoon editor. Through the many snippets of On Ma Eum’s life, viewers get to gain an insight on the hardships faced by webtoon artists and editors to create the best works, at the same time witnessing the growth and maturity of On Ma Eum.
“Today’s Webtoon” is adapted from the famous Japanese manga “Jūhan Shuttai!”. Unfortunately, as an adaptation, it failed to rouse curiosity in viewers, leading to many growing impatient and dropping the series.
Ahn Hyo Seop is busy with 2 new promising projects
In the case of Ahn Hyo Seop, the actor is busy with 2 extremely promising projects – the Korean adaptation of “Someday or One Day” and the 3rd season of hit K-drama “Dr. Romantic”.
As one of the most popular Taiwanese dramas, “Someday or One Day” is a rather difficult work to adapt, creating immense pressure for the Korean version. At the same time, however, the reputation of the original drama is enough to draw in audiences, and Ahn Hyo Seop’s co-star, actress Jeon Yeo Bin, has been gaining both attention and critical acclaim. Therefore, as long as the writing isn’t bad and Ahn Hyo Seon and Jeon Yeo Bin delivered a promising chemistry, there’s a lot to look forward to.
Similarity, “Dr. Romantic 3” will also garner attention and viewership from the get-go thanks to the hype of the 2 previous seasons. Kim Min Kyu lands a leading role in a fantasy-romance K-drama
If in “Business Proposal”, Kim Min Kyu played the 2nd male lead, then in his upcoming project “The High Priest Rembrary”, the actor will step up to the leading role.
“The High Priest Rembrary” follows the male lead Rembrary, who reincarnated into the body of unpopular Kpop idol Woo Yeon Woo, after an intense battle with the demon king in another world. Since he is unfamiliar with his new world, Rembrary struggles to adapt in his new body, causing a lot of hilarity.
Kim Min Kyu’s co-star in this upcoming K-drama will be Go Bo Gyeol, who will assume the role of Woo Yeon Woo’s gorgeous and capable manager. The actress is well known for boasting an extremely youthful appearance, which makes her look in her 20s despite now being 34 years old.
With a rather refreshing plot, “The High Priest Rembrary” is expected to boost the names of Kim Min Kyu and Go Bo Gyeol even further.
Seol In Ah took a safe yet intriguing move with “Oasis”
After the success of “Business Proposal”, Seol In Ah plays it safe with “Oasis” – a romantic K-drama that revolves around the romance of a rich woman, who’s daughter to a theater owner, and a poor guy.
While the “rich girl – poor guy” troupe isn’t exactly new, “Oasis” will bring a gust of new wind with its setting, which is based in the turbulent period of 1980-1990, and integrates old and historical details.
Seol In Ah’s acting partners in “Oasis” are Jang Dong Yoon – who starred in “School 2017” and “Tale of Nokdu”, and Choo Young Woo – who has made appearances in “School 2021”, “Police University”, and most recently, “Once Upon a Small Town”.
