Han Hyo-joo Talked About Losing Weight And Building Muscles For New Movie

Actress Han Hyo-joo shared about her preparation for the Netflix movie “Believer 2”

On the afternoon of October 7th, Han Hyo-joo hosted the 28th Busan International Film Festival’s event “Actors’ House” at the KNN Theater of KNN Tower in Haeundae-gu, Busan.

In this event, Han Hyo-joo said, “Believer 2″ was like a clothing that I had never worn with my acting until now,” adding, “The character ‘Big Knife’ was originally a male character, but the director changed it to a female character because he wanted to cast me. He gave me this suggestion, but it was a big burden for me to choose and I was worried that I would be able to do well.”

“So, I did a lot of research both internally and externally to wear “these clothes,” lost a lot of weight, built muscles, and prepared very hard for my body shape even by not drinking water,” she said.

Regarding her role as a “Big Knife,” the actress said, “It (the character) was something I didn’t have,” adding, “For me, when I was acting, I took out the side I had and improved it from there, I’ve been doing that all this time,” and revealed, “There were some parts that were there in me, but I wasn’t Big Knife, it was the first time in my life as an actress to build a character from nothing.”

“Since it’s not there, it was more fun when I made the character,” she said, “It feels like I’m drawing a sketch on white paper from the beginning. I was skinny, but I had a setting that I had fine muscles, so I thought I could build muscles, but internally, it was up to me.”
