She added with a crying emoticon, “I’m drinking soju alone.” Currently, Goo Hye Sun is studying at Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Film Studies.

Earlier on the same day, HB Entertainment officially announced that Goo Hye Sun had lost a lawsuit regarding unpaid appearance fees and video copyright. HB stated, “Regarding the lawsuit results with Goo Hye Sun, she was ordered to pay compensation to HB in accordance with the arbitration decision of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, which stated that she should compensate for damages due to the termination of the exclusive contract with HB on April 20, 2020.

HB further stated, “Afterward, Goo Hye Sun applied for an additional decision contesting the effectiveness of the arbitration decision, but it was rejected on July 1, 2020, and the arbitration decision was finally confirmed by the Supreme Court on April 16, 2021.”

HB continued, “Separate from this, on February 18, 2020, Goo Hye Sun filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court, demanding payment for profits from HB’s YouTube videos and claiming the copyright of the videos publicly released on the HB channel. However, on June 15, 2023, the Seoul Central District Court ruled to reject all the baseless claims made by the plaintiff (Goo Hye Sun).

The dispute between Goo Hye Sun and HB began during the divorce process with her ex-husband, Ahn Jae Hyun, in 2019. At that time, both of them were under HB’s management, but Goo Hye Sun expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that HB only worked in favor of Ahn Jae Hyun before and after their marital difficulties. In response, Goo Hye Sun notified HB of the termination of her exclusive contract in August 2019.

The dispute between the two parties was resolved through arbitration by the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board. Goo Hye Sun should pay approximately 35 million won for the expenses incurred in launching her YouTube channel through HB. Goo Hye Sun paid this amount to HB, but she filed a lawsuit claiming that HB had unjustly gained property benefits without legal grounds, demanding her YouTube content appearance fees and revenue, known to amount to approximately 100 million won.

However, the court rejected Goo Hye Sun’s lawsuit, stating that it was insufficient to retroactively recognize the termination of the agreement and that there was no evidence to support such recognition.

In May of last year, Goo Hye Sun celebrated her 20th debut anniversary by releasing an album’. In addition, Goo Hye Sun is active in various fields such as film directing, production, planning, and screenwriting.
