FIFTY FIFTY’s Keena exposes Ahn Sung-il “He planned the ‘fake COVID-19’ incident involving member Saena”

FIFTY FIFTY’s Keena, who returned to the agency Attrakt, exposed The Givers’s CEO Ahn Sung-il

Dispatch reported on the interview with Keena on Oct 20th. Producer Ahn Sung-il was reportedly behind the scenes regarding the suspension of FIFTY FIFTY‘s exclusive contract with Attrakt.

According to Keena, Ahn Sung-il planned the “fake COVID-19” incident involving member Saena. Saena sent a photo of a COVID-19 positive kit that she received from Ahn Sung-il to Attrakt, giving FIFTY FIFTY an extra 3 days before they had to return to the agency.

During those 3 days, FIFTY FIFTY sent a certification of contents to Attrakt (on June 16th), and the next day, they left the dorm. Attrakt received the certification of contents on June 19th.

Keena mentioned that 3 days before sending the certification of contents, Ahn Sung-il advised them not to fulfill their schedules from then on. He suggested that being quarantined with COVID-19 could help them avoid the agency’s scrutiny, prompting them to make the decision to go through with the lawsuit. Keena said, “Once the decision to file a lawsuit was made, we thought it was the best option. PD Ahn Sung-il advised not to meet the company.”

However, after FIFTY FIFTY members sent the certification of contents to Attrakt, trust in Ahn Sung-il collapsed.

Keena stated that Ahn Sung-il offered to help with the lawsuit by saying, “I can’t help you upfront. Instead, I promise to provide evidence from behind.” Still, he did not provide concrete evidence, leaving them high and dry. Eventually, the parents of FIFTY FIFTY members chose to exclude Ahn Sung-il and continued with the lawsuit.

Besides, Keena mentioned that Ahn Sung-il said “Do you know how I helped you enter Billboard?” and claimed he was the one who made it happen. He also tried to sow discord by saying things like “I used my own money for the ‘Cupid’ music video“. Keena expressed anger at Ahn Sung-il’s gaslighting tactics.

Keena also clarified FIFTY FIFTY’s position regarding the “20 billion won buyout” incident, “We didn’t know the exact meaning of the buyout. We only wanted to continue our normal activities.

Lastly, Keena expressed regret, “The thing I regret most is not thinking of confirming with CEO Jeon Hong-joon.

FIFTY FIFTY gained attention globally with their first single album’s title track “Cupid” released in February, entering the Billboard Hot 100 chart just 4 months after their debut. Despite not belonging to any of the “big four” entertainment companies (SM, YG, JYP, HYBE), the group received accolades for their remarkable success. They also had the opportunity to sing the OST for the movie “Barbie”, which grossed over 10 trillion won. However, their bright future was dimmed by the legal disputes.
