Ex-Teen Top C.A.P discusses female fans sexually harassing male idols, “They touched my butt”

Former Teen Top member C.A.P confessed the bad experiences he experienced when he was still active as an idol.

On July 2nd, C.A.P uploaded on his Youtube channel a new video titled “When did the job of idols become similar to dating?”.

In the released video, C.A.P revealed, “I will tell you what I felt throughout the 14 years of my career as an idol”.

C.A.P angrily said, “The fact that being an idol feels similar to dating is good. But if you come and say something excessive…”. He added, “Most of them told me to say ‘I love you’ in front of them or ask me to hold their hands. But some even sexually harassed me”, surprising everyone.

Taking a deep sigh, C.A.P emphasized, “They really did things like sexual harassment. Being a male idol doesn’t mean you won’t be sexually harassed. Male idols can also become victims”.

Recalling the past when he was sexually harassed by fans, C.A.P frowned and expressed discomfort. He said, “Some people touched my butt like this then touched their own chests. That was when I started to get a mental breakdown. I questioned if it was real”, expressing his frustration.

He continued, “I experienced such mental breakdown more than once or twice. I got cursed at on the Internet and sexually harassed when doing offline events. Those weird fans just asked me to do all sorts of things and made ridiculous requests.”

C.A.P argued that there should be a change to protect idols from such unpleasant incidents regardless of gender. He said, “Someone needs to bring about this change. I am not someone who can make that change”, adding “When I was an idol, I had too many people associated with me, such as my members, agency, and staff, so I cannot act freely according to my own beliefs. If I made a mistake, the people around me will suffer financial losses.”

Meanwhile, C.A.P made his debut as the leader of Teen Top in 2010 and gained huge love from K-pop fans. However, he sparked controversy over his inappropriate words and actions during a Youtube live broadcast in May and eventually left the group. He also terminated his exclusive contract with TOP Media.
