Dispatch’s “revenge”: After 3 attempts to uncover Lee Jong Suk’s dating status, the actor finally admitted to their claims
A near-decade long “cat-and-mouse” between Dispatch and Lee Jong Suk.
On December 31st, 2022, Dispatch exposed a series of photos showing IU and Lee Jong Suk dating in Japan. Afterwards, the actor admitted being in a relationship with the singer.
While Dispatch managed to expose Lee Jong Suk’s dating status this time, the newspage has not always been successful in the past.
Unprecedented case: Dispatch failed to expose the same couple twice
Eight years ago, Dispatch released a series of dating photos between Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye with realistic shots that were thought to have given the couple away.
However, the couple did not make any move to confirm their relationship despite the popular belief in the evidence provided by the news outlet.
The first time
On the morning of July 1st, 2015, Dispatch dropped the photos of Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye going out and said they had been dating after filming “Pinocchio.” From February to June, 2015, Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk were frequently caught on Dispatch’s camera on dates in and outside of Korea. Park Shin Hye was said to have driven to Lee Jong Suk’s place and gone out for dates in his car.
However, Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye denied the rumors, shocking the public as the previously exposed couples had never spoken up against Dispatch.
The second time
On the same day, Dispatch continued releasing pictures of the couple’s date and added “interesting” details of the event.
This time around, the actors’ representatives neither denied nor confirmed the information and kept their silence.
Dispatch’s “revenge’ after 8 years
After 8 years failing to expose actor Lee, Dispatch succeeded in revealing his relationship with singer and actress IU. In 2022, the news followed him to Japan to obtain persuasive evidence of the actor’s current relationship with the singer. Breaking the “tradition,” Dispatch delivered updates on the couple on December 31st, one day before their usual date. The public speculated that Dispatch pushed the released date forward for fear that Lee Jong Suk would announce the news himself on the first day of new year.
In their letters to fans, Lee Jong Suk and IU mentioned their partner in the sweetest way. While actor Lee praised IU of being an “amazing” and “grown” person who radiates positive energy, IU spoke highly of him as someone who always “supports” and “encourages” her.
