RM recently got the opportunity to talk more about BTS’ failure at the Grammys in 2021.
BTS made history by being the first Korean group to be nominated for and perform at the Grammy Awards in recent years. Dynamite was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2021, and ARMYs all over the world were disappointed when the group did not win.
Recently, on Let’s BTS – a talk show of KBS – BTS leader RM shared some thoughts about the 2021 Grammys:
“But this is how we rationalized it. They have a lot of different Grammy trophies, but only 20 teams get to have their own performance, so getting our own performance was better (laughs). So, that’s how we accepted it.
In a recent interview with Weverse Magazine, RM expressed his views about the Grammys, which he has never previously shared:
“I was really happy that we added one more thing to our list of accomplishments. I think our team really needed the work itself. It made me realize we still have things left to achieve.
And I want to thank ARMY above all others for making all of this possible. I’m Korean, so I’m no stranger to finding joy in accomplishment. (laughs) It was really satisfying and nice.”
Finally, RM showed his maturity when sharing his true thoughts on not winning the Grammy 2021. He said that although winning the award certainly brings joy, in the end, it’s not a great change.
“It would’ve been better if we got a Grammy, but so what if we didn’t? In the end, getting it means you have one more trophy at home, and after that your daily routine repeats.”
