BTS Jungkook talks about GMA stage, “I performed after getting an IV & injection. It’s regretful”
BTS Jungkook expressed his feelings and revealed behind-the-scenes stories about the release of his first solo single “Seven”.
On July 14th (KST), Jungkook turned on a live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse.
Introducing a live performance of his new song “Seven” at the GMA’s ‘2023 Summer Concert Series’ held at Central Park in New York, Jungkook said, “My throat was not in good condition”.
He continued, “I did a test, and fortunately, it was not Covid-19. If I had already come here when I got sick, I would have been able to rest and recover better. But I actually arrived here at the peak of symptoms”, adding “That’s why I had various IV marks and I even got an injection on my butt, so don’t worry, I think I’ve gotten better than yesterday”.
He shared, “You guys came from afar and set up tents to wait for me for days. Knowing that it was not a perfect performance because it was my first stage, I felt quite regretful”, adding, “Despite that, I still did my best. The energy from the audience was amazing, and I received strength from it. It was not a bad performance overall. Thanks to you all, I was able to successfully complete my first stage without any major mistakes or accidents. It’s still a bit regretful, though.”
Regarding “Seven” music video, Jungkook said, “Isn’t it funny and interesting? These kinds of emotions are not easily seen in music videos these days”, adding “We had lots of meetings before the shoot to discuss the way to approach this style, and I really enjoyed the filming process”.
He added, “I felt a bit awkward making facial expressions while doing lipsync for the MV at first, but as I tried to be more focused on the shoot, I started to get used to it”, adding “Looking on the music video filming process, it was not easy at all. It was my first time doing this kind of shoot, so it was fun but tiring at the same time.”
Mentioning his collaboration with actress Han So Hee, Jungkook shared, “Playing the role of the female lead in the music video, Han So Hee really helped me a lot. To be honest, I was still wondering what to do, but when the camera started rolling, she acted very well. I relied on her and she helped me with acting. I really want to thank the actress. Thanks to her, the music video turned out well”.
Meanwhile, “Seven” was released at 1 p.m. on July 14th. The song combines addictive melodies with the rhythm of acoustic guitar and the ‘UK garage’ genre (a kind of electronic music created in the UK in the early 1990s).
This song is a passionate serenade with lyrics expressing one’s desire to spend the entire week with their beloved people. Jungkook’s sweet vocal highlights the charms and completeness of the song. Additionally, American rapper Latto participated in the song as a featuring artist, while the music video stars famous actress Han So Hee.
