On this day, RedOne mentioned BTS Jungkook‘s “Dreamers”, which the male idol performed during the Qatar World Cup opening ceremony. After its release, “Dreamers” topped the global worldwide chart on the music search platform Shazam and ranked first on the top 200 charts in Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Vietnam, and in the Middle East. In addition, it ranked first on the bestseller list and on the international bestseller list of the French music platform Qobuz.
At same time, “Dreamers” also entered the UK’s Official Big Top 40 chart at number 26 and the New Zealand Hot 40 Singles chart at number 3, setting the record for the highest solo debut by a Kpop solo singer. As of November 27th on the global music platform iTunes, the piece also topped the worldwide iTunes song chart for 8 consecutive days.
Regarding such achievements, RedOne said, “‘Dreamers’ sung by Jungkook took first place in more than 100 countries on the day the World Cup theme song was released, for the first time in history. Has there ever been a song so successful? It’s unbelievable and amazing.”
The producer also expressed his love for Jungkook by saying, “There has been no promotion so far, and we only have his performance for the World Cup”, and “It’s a blessing that I was able to participate in all of this work.”
